Bis zum Eintritt in den Ruhestand Ende September 2023 war sie Direktorin der Stadtbibliothek Bremen und international tätige bibliothekarische Verbandsaktivistin, zuletzt als Präsidentin des internationalen Bibliotheksverbandes IFLA.
